Let us hear it for the liberal media and their attempt to revise history

I was very disappointed with the wording of the headline in the June 29 La Crosse Tribune “Supreme Court justices extend gun owner rights nationwide”.   

The word ‘extend’ according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary means to increase the scope, meaning, or application of.   The headline implies that the Supreme Court has increased the rights of gun owners.

The Supreme Court merely confirmed that the 2^nd amendment really does mean that the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.   The gun ban in Chicago was certainly an infringement of our right as a U.S. citizen.

Also, we should all remember that the purpose of the Bill of Rights is to tell the government what it cannot do.
